Whenever you are experiencing pain, it is important to make sure you will be able to get everything you need in order to get rid of it. The fear many people have whenever there is a spinal problem is that they will have to go through surgery. Are you experiencing back pain? Do you worry about surgery? Did you know you could get relief through exercise? You will be surprised to find out how easy it will be for you to be able to get rid of the pain that you are currently experiencing.

Many of the exercises you can try have been developed just for spinal decompression. While these might have been borrowed from other things like yoga, they can help you to be able to get everything you will need to get rid of your back problem. Make sure that you are following the instructions closely to get the best results on your exercises.

Stretching on the Floor

The first thing that you can try to get rid of bulging disks is you can lie on the floor with your legs stretched out. Take one leg and with bending it at the knee, put it on the ground near your upper thigh on the outside of the body. By putting your leg on the other side of your body, you will get a twist in your spine. You should increase this twist by reaching out in the other direction from where your body is turning. Try to put your fingers and pal flat on the floor. Look at your hand so that you will be able to make sure that you get the maximum stretch.

You can also try sitting up to touch your toes. By reaching out as far as you can, you can stretch you spin as well as opening up the back muscles. Try to attach a rope to the base of your bed or couch. You can pull on the rope while you have your legs stretched out. This will help you to make sure that you can get an even better stretch on your spin to loosen the pressure.

Standing Stretches

Another of the options you have is a windmill. Go very slowly so that you will be able to get the most out of the exercise. Make sure to maintain a straight back and that your arms are straight out. This will help for you to concentrate on twisting your spine so that everything can get into alignment. Make sure that you are standing on a mat made for exercises. This will help to take some of the pressure off of your spine as you stand.

Also try stretches in which you will put your hands on your hips and stretch backward. The further you can look back on the wall behind you, the better the stretch is on your spine. Since leaning forward is common for many people, this is a much needed exercise. It will help to loosen up your spin from all angles.

Exercises to Avoid

Along with all of the treatments you will be going through, it is important to understand what kinds of exercises will work against you. Anything which will put a lot of pressure on the spine is something you should avoid. Walking is okay in small distances. You can also try swimming as a great way that you will be able to get a low-impact exercise. The lower the impact of the exercise, the better it is for a back bulging disc. Of course, you might want to simply stick to stretches until you have recovered from the problems you have.
